This intermediate silks workshop will cover foundational drop pathways on split-panel silks. We will drop forward, backward, sideways, and straight down. Learn how to hold your body shape in each drop to keep yourself safe and how to control your speed to go faster or slower. More experienced students will have opportunities to stack multiple drops within one wrap, while newer students focus on the basics of each drop.

Prerequisite: students should be able to get into a hip key from a climb and invert from the floor.

All levels are welcome for an evening of fun and games in the fabric studio! Bring your team spirit and get ready to go for gold in a variety of fun games utilizing the aerial apparatuses.

Create art mid-air in the beauty of the night, utilizing our colorful lights to cast your glow!

This kicks off with a 45-minute posing workshop and warm-up. There will be about 15 minutes to refresh hair and make-up. Then we will begin the shoot with Photographer Clockwork Steve. Models will take turns being the vogue superstar throughout the shoot.

Catch the aerialists of Fly Freak Studio collaborating with local musical artists, MPLS House, Razz Artís, & T.O.D.D.! There will be nearly twenty fly freaks performing some of the best aerial arts in the Midwest to live, luscious sounds of these local superstars at the infamous LUSH Lounge and Theatre.

Ready to take your lyra skills up a notch? Level up in this 3-week session! We'll focus on helping students feel confident in several intermediate to advanced poses and sequences. We'll also work on mounts, transitions, and other skills needed to feel ready to take on advanced level classes.

This session is best for students who are past beginner-level classes.

Our Mayday celebration began in 1974, initiated and shepherded by In the Heart of the Beast Theatre (HOBT) as an annual event with broad community participation. For nearly 50 years HOBT enacted the Mayday Parade, the Tree of Life Ceremony, and the Festival in Powderhorn Park. In April 2023, HOBT announced that it would no longer produce Mayday, and “released it” to the community.

Now, in 2026, there is no single organization producing Mayday; the Parade is built by decentralized community groups hosting puppet-making workshops and the Semilla Center for Healing and the Arts is sponsoring an artistic cohort and workshops to create the Tree of Life Ceremony. Festivities in Powderhorn Park following the Parade will be quite different than in HOBT years, with no organized food trucks or large music stages. You are encouraged to bring picnics and enjoy the beautiful park.

The Parade begins at noon at Bloomington Avenue and 28th Street. Then will proceed down Bloomington Avenue to 34th Street, turn East, and enter Powderhorn Park between 34th and 35th Streets on 15th Avenue.

This beginner 4-week session covers basic knowledge of split panel silks. Learn to climb, work towards essential skills like inverts and hip keys, and add 2-3 moves or poses to your arsenal each week. Build your strength and skills while having lots of fun!

Are you new to aerial? We recommend trying Sling - Beginner or Lyra - Beginner first for the best experience!

If you have been hanging out in beginner sling for a while, now is your time to level up! This 3-week series will focus on the bigger beginner sling tricks like circus sit, ankle hang, hip key, and more. We will work on nailing some of the more difficult tricks and explore different ways through common wraps so you feel confident going into more advanced explorations.

Come in and strike a pose! Just one. Because you will need to hold it for fifteen or so minutes! This is an old school style of photography that began in 1851. You will get to take a plate of your image home that day! Create art that will stand the test of time.
