Class Prep List

We want you to have the best class experience possible! Find everything you need to know before your next class on this page.

Sign our waiver

IMPORTANT! All students must sign our safety waiver before entering the studio.

Please go to the Mindbody scheduler site and create an account to complete this step. For children under 18, please have guardians create an account in their name.

Having a private party? Each member must make an account and sign this waiver.

Arrive early to find parking

The parking lots and ramp near Fly Freak are often busy, especially in warm weather! Give yourself at least 10 extra minutes before class to park, head inside and get settled.

Want to know more about parking? Check out our FAQ page.

Be on time (please!)

We lock the door 5 minutes after class has started. If you’re late, please do not interrupt class! Call 651-900-1636 to be let in.

Wash your hands

Before entering the studio, wash your hands to help us keep the fabric, studio equipment and each other safe and clean.

Stay hydrated

Make sure to drink water before, during and after class! We’ve got some serious workouts and want you to be safe and hydrated. To help aid in this, we have a fountain in the studio for everyone’s use.

For everyone’s safety, please do not consume alcohol before class. We reserve the right to turn away students who are intoxicated.

Have a light snack

Aerial is a workout. Just like you wouldn't want to run or lift on an empty or full stomach, you don't want to be hungry or too full when you come to an aerial class. We recommend a light meal or snack one to two hours beforehand.

What Should I Wear?

We kindly ask that students do not wear clothing with zippers or sharp jewelry in any class format. This helps us protect our equipment and avoid unnecessary damage. Thank you for understanding!

Aerial

Silks and Sling (Hammock)

We recommend form-fitting clothing that covers your torso, underarms, and knees to prevent fabric burns and protect your skin from bruising!

While shorts might be tempting in the hotter months, they don’t offer enough coverage and should be avoided to protect your skin. Long nails can make it difficult to grip the fabric, so they’re not ideal for aerial arts.

Lyra (Hoop)

We recommend form-fitting athletic clothing that covers your torso and the backs of your knees. This protects your skin from friction burns and prevents clothing from catching on the apparatus.

Land Classes

Yoga

We recommend stretchy, athletic clothing that lets you move, bend, and sweat comfortably.

Dance

Wear what makes you feel good! For all of our dance classes, we recommend comfortable, stretchy, and fitted clothing that allows for a full range of motion. Consider grippy yoga socks for better traction. We are a no-shoe studio!

Taking Chair Dance? You may want to cover your knees! Knee pads or pants recommended.

Strength + Movement

We recommend wearing fitted, breathable athletic clothing that won’t restrict a wide range of movement! Keep in mind, you may be in poses that cause you to be upside down.
